Jaypee University Anoopshahr took a significant step towards creating a safe and inclusive workplace environment by conducting a comprehensive workshop focused on implementing the University Grants Commission (UGC) Regulations for the Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students in Higher Educational Institutions. Facilitated by Advocate Neha Rathi, a practicing advocate at the Supreme Court of India, the workshop aimed to raise awareness, provide training, and ensure compliance with these crucial regulations across higher educational institutions.

During the workshop, participants gained a thorough understanding of the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), its composition, functions, and legal mandates. Advocate Neha Rathi provided insights into the UGC’s anti-harassment policy and addressed different forms of harassment, including verbal, physical, and psychological, through case studies and examples.

The workshop also focused on educating employees about the complaint filing process, highlighting confidentiality and available support systems such as counseling and legal advice. Moreover, participants were equipped with strategies for bystander intervention, enabling them to recognize and respond to potential harassment situations effectively.

As a result of the workshop, Jaypee University Anoopshahr is better positioned to implement UGC regulations on sexual harassment prevention, prohibition, and redressal. By fostering awareness, building capacity, and promoting accountability, participants are committed to creating safer and more inclusive academic environments.
