Jaypee University Anoopshahr organised an invited talk by Prof. T.R. Seshadri, senior professor in the Department of Physics and Astrophysics, University of Delhi.He is a world renowned cosmologist with several prestigious awards, memberships and fellowships at national and international level. His talk on "Structures in the Universe" was attended by the faculties and students of all the departments.He explained the conditions that led to the formation of the first structures in the Universe and how those structures grew over time leading to the humongous galaxies we observe today. He made the talk understandable to the broad audience by explaining the simple Physics involved in each of the processes. The audience was enthralled by the master speaker and his carefully crafted slides. To the focused listener it appeared as if the Universe is evolving in front of their eyes. His talk was greeted by many interesting queries from the audience, which he responded in detail with undeterred enthusiasm. The Vice Chancellor extolled his talk, remarking that the vastness of the Universe nudges us to remain humble, being aware of our insignificance in the larger scheme of things.
